Sponsor the $300 House

contact us: sponsor@300house.com

OPPORTUNITIES

Businesses interested in helping this project are encouraged to help make the $300 house a reality in the following ways:

(1) ownership - take charge, design and develop your model of a $300 House. If your company wants to build a $300 house, by all means - do so! We will help promote your solution.

(2) as a sponsor of our design challenge - we are launching a global design challenge using www.jovoto.com - you business could sponsor the best designs.

Our judges (confirmed) for the challenge include:

(3) as a sponsor for creation of a prototype based on the winning designs. [For how this might work, here is a design contest which jovoto did recently: http://lifeedited.treehugger.com/]

(4) as a sponsor of a pilot project - we are scoping out three projects - one in Haiti, one in India, and one in Indonesia - the pilot projects could use the financial assistance to actually build a small village comprised of $300 houses.

If you are interested in these options, kindly contact us at sponsor@300house.com. Tell us specifically what you'd like to do. We are announcing the design challenge at the beginning of April 2011.

Thanks for your interest and support,

Vijay Govindarajan
and

$300 House for the Poor

The $300 House was first described in a Harvard Business Review blog post by Vijay Govindarajan and Christian Sarkar. Initially, we just wanted to put the concept out there, but now, due to the tremendous response, we've decided to see how far we can go toward making this idea a reality.
